Have you ever wondered what Tsuna's life before he met Reborn and wasn’t involved with the mafia? Maybe he is still the same no good Tsuna we knew from the start. He must be living through his lethargic life.
It is a typical start of a series where the main character just one day, an out this world event happen that changes his life forever. That is exactly what happened with Tsuna. If you read the first part of the manga first chapter. Before this mafia thing happened to Tsuna, he struggles everyday with his life like he defined it – no good. He must be loser of all losers, he doesn’t have one single talent which he excels. What a poor boy if you ask me. He is not athletic, he is not good at any sports. He always missed the ball that made him bullied by his teammates. They even said that the team who has Tsuna will definitely lose. The only motivation he has to come to school is to see his long time crush, Kyoko. But when he saw him with the Kendo club captain, his motivation dissolves.
He comes home at the middle of the class. When his mother asked him what his plan for his future, he said he doesn’t know. I pity Tsuna a lot, first his mother doesn’t have confidence in him, and he doesn’t expect a lot with him. But I no way I ascertaining she didn’t love Tsuna. Of course she does. The reason she is like this is that maybe she accepted Tsuna what he is and what he is capable of.
But if Reborn didn’t barged on to his life, he’ll probably constantly like this. But I believed that we have an opportunity knocking in our very doors that made us change – for the better. And that's what happened to Tsuna. He even said that if haven’t met Reborn he would haven’t met his true friends, he cherish the most. I believe that more than the responsibility and the self confidence he have right now, he probably thankful for having people who trust him and like him as he is.
