No matter how important they are said to be...The vongola rings...the position for the next boss... I can't battle for such things. 
Tsuna; Chapter 99: Smile of Xanxus
The appearance of young man, named Basil suddenly changes his and his friend’s life. He was entrusted the “half vongola rings”. Due the direct orders of Ninth, Tsuna with chosen guardians must fight Xanxus and his elite Varia members in a Ring Conflict. In preparation of the upcoming battles each one of them undergoes training with their individual home tutor.
The first to fight was his Guardian of Sun, Ryohei Sasagawa against Lissuria. With his extreme determination and will to fight, he won the match. Next battle is his Guardian of Thunder, 5 year old hitman, Lambo against Levi A Than, during this match Lambo shot the “10 year bazooka” twice summoning the 20 years in the future Lambo. He almost won the match but the time run out and he return to his normal self again. To rescue Lambo, Tsuna charges and save Lambo resulting to confiscating his sky ring and loss the match.
Third match is between the Guardians of Storm, Gokudera Hayato and Belphegor. A very tricky match that even Gokudera is willing to sacrifice himself but due Tsuna’s order that his life is much more important he leave the premises and returned to them in safety. The match between Yamamoto Takeshi and Superbia Squalo, they doubt that he can’t win the match since Squalo is master swordsmen who already defeated numerous sword style technique. But his Shigure Souen Style, Yamamoto has further created new forms and able to defeat Squalo winning the Guardian of Rain match.
Chrome is the holder of the Mist Ring, and thus battles Mammon as Guardian of Mist. Bu when she was overwhelmed by Mammon's powers, Mukuro takes control and defeats him. Also Tsuna found out the condition of Mukuro, which he is secluded in a prison chamber.
During the match between Guardian of Clouds, Xanxus is plotting against Tsuna. Hibari Kyouya easily defeated Gola Mosca, now they have a 4 to 3 lead; however, Xanxus chooses to frame Tsuna for the "assassination" of the 9th.
The last and the most important battle, the Sky Match, will determined the next successor. During this match all his guardians are poisoned and must inject to their wristbands their specific rings to save them. Since, Death heater will only need 30 minutes to transfer the poison to the entire body, the match become a match against time. To defeat Xanxus who had flame of Rage, Tsuna unleashes his new technique, Zero Point Break Through, he goes into a state of Minus point, a pure negative version of the Dying Will Flame and Tsuna also created his own version of the Breakthrough called Zero Point Break Through Custom able to 'capture' his Dying Will Flame attacks and convert the energy to his own. Almost defeated Xanxus his two subordinates Marmon and Belphegor melt Tsuna’s Zero Point Break Through. However, the Vongola Rings rejects him for not possessing Vongola blood, he stops his ambition once and for all. Tsuna is still redeemed himself and win the sky battle making Tsuna the legitimate successor with his “family”.
