10 years later
When Tsuna accidentally shot by the 10 years bazooka and transported 10 years in the future. He was astounded to find out the drastic changed happened. The most powerful mafia family in which he will lead someday was utterly defeated by a new emerging mafia group – the Millefiore Family. And much to his surprised, he was told that in that era…he died. This explains as to why he was in a coffin upon his arrival. According to Yamamoto (10 years in the future) the Millefiore asked for summoned of their boss (Tsuna) for a negotiation. But they are not a man of their words, but instead they taken down Tsuna by gunshots that kill him instantly. Now the most powerful mafia group lost its main core.
This is limited information stated in the series. This was just a few pieces of the story happened in the future. Then his past self learned more about himself on the stories of people surrounding him in the future. He learned about his accomplishment, and the things that his future self that he, himself is also puzzled. But from the people’s remark, he had done quite a feat, expected from 10th boss of the Vongola Family.
In the recent events, Irie Shoichi told them about the plan by he, Hibari and Tsuna (transporting everyone to the future and attack the Millefiore base in Japan). It was revealed that their true enemy isn’t him but Byakuran. They must stop him on his plan to create a “new world” using the 73 or the ultimate power ( NonTrinsette: consisting of this 3 sets: 7 arcobaleno pacifiers, 7 mare rings and the 7 vongola rings).

It was revealed in Chapter 253: The Phalaenopsis Paradox 2 that TYL Tsuna is alive. Irie Shoichi told them the nature of Byakuran powers and the parallel worlds. There are many parallel worlds and all of them were already conquered by Byakuran. The future (the timeline the future arc happens) is the only future where Irie met Tsuna and because of this, that world became a miracle – the futures of Vongola Boxes are born. So this is the only era they have chances of defeating Byakuran.
Also in that chapter Irie disclosed TYL Tsuna’s real condition, that he is alive. The bullet used during the ambush was a special bullet. Irie used a bullet that is similar to the dying will bullet. This led Tsuna into a death state (similar to suspended animation).The coffin found at the beginning of the future arc was an illusion (mist) created to hide from the enemies. Tsuna had great confidence with his former self, he said that:
The me of that time who holds the biggest possibilities…
shall come soon.

Although the younger Tsuna doesn’t have the same abilities as his future self, TYL Tsuna said that his former self has comrades bonds that capable of growing. Irie said that it is not only Byakuran who are expecting for their arrival but the most that look forward to it is him and TYL Tsuna.
